ADOPT AN ORANGUTAN TODAY

Adopting an orangutan in our soft-release programme is a unique gift and a great way to support orangutans.

Adib

Adib is a nine-year-old male orangutan who has been in soft-release in the Lamandau Wildlife Reserve since 2017. As an infant, Adib was kept as a pet in a cage before he was rescued from a village in Central Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo.

At Camp JL, Adib loves to playfight with his fellow campmates and forage for fresh fruit off the branches - he never eats it once it has fallen! Adib needs to finish mastering his forest skills before he is released.

Mona

Mona is a nine-year-old female orangutan who was rescued in March 2017. Like Adib, she was also being kept in a cage as pet. We don’t know what happened to her mother, but it is most likely that she was killed.

Mona shares her home at Camp JL with Adib and Logos. They are often seen playing together, climbing, and swinging in the trees! Mona also likes to play with wild orangutan mother, Marsha. Mona is particularly good at nest-building and is on the way to being an independent orangutan.

From just £30 a year you can make a real difference in helping these orangutans return to a life in the wild.
